Free self-check · 14 points · about 10 minutes

Score your website in ten minutes.

Open your website on your phone and answer each statement. Answer "Yes" only if you can point to the fact on the site, written in words. A fact that appears only in a picture, in a brochure or in your head does not count. If you are unsure, say so: a generous answer hides a gap you would otherwise fix.

The statements

01The first heading on our home page says what we make.

Read only the first heading and the line under it, on your phone.

02Each main product has a page of its own, with at least one figure on it: a size, grade, thickness or capacity.

A photo grid on one Products page does not count.

03Someone has checked the figures on our product pages against our current spec sheets in the past year, and they agree.

If nobody has checked, answer "Not sure".

04The facts in our catalogue also appear as text on the product pages, not only inside the PDF.

Try to select the specification text on a product page.

05Our capacity is written as a number, in the unit our buyers order in, with a list of our main machines.

Tonnes a month, pieces a day, metres a shift.

06At least one past supply is described on the site: what, where, for whom, the year and a quantity.

A strip of client logos does not count.

07Each certificate and approval is named with the body that issued it and its expiry date, and a buyer can open it.

Logos too small to read do not count.

08Every photograph and testimonial on the site is our own and real.

Stock images and unnamed testimonials count as "No".

09From any product page, a buyer can ask for a quote on a form separate from Contact Us.

A phone number and an email address alone do not count.

10That form lets the buyer attach a drawing: a PDF, AutoCAD file or photograph.

Try it from your phone.

11Every website enquiry is saved somewhere other than an inbox, and we can say how many came last month, for which products.

Calls and WhatsApp taps counted too, ideally.

12Asked "What does [our company] make?", ChatGPT and Perplexity both give a correct answer.

Ask both, in your company's exact name, and compare with what is true.

13Our name, address, phone and founding year read the same on the website, Google, IndiaMART and LinkedIn.

Any difference, however small, is a "No".

14On mobile data, with wifi off, our home page opens and shows a way to call or ask for a quote within a few seconds.

Use a phone that has not visited the site recently.

15A buyer can find a named dealer near him on our website.

Only if you sell through dealers.

16An overseas buyer can read the countries we supply, our certificate numbers and how we pack.

Only if you export.

Your answers are scored on this page and not stored or sent anywhere.

FAQ

Questions about the self-check

No. The self-check is your own reading of your site against the points buyers check most. The Blueprint is a detailed written report on your site, prepared by us, covering how Google and the AI assistants read it, what to correct and in what order.
No. Your answers are scored on the page and not saved or sent anywhere.
Yes. Ask your sales head or a recent joiner to score it separately. Where your answers differ, the fact is probably on the site but hard to find, which is a gap of its own.
