Symptoms you may be seeing
- Enquiries arrive without a quantity, a drawing or a site, and take three calls to quote. The website gives buyers no proper way to ask for a price, so they send whatever they can.
The moment it matters
A project engineer has the fabrication drawing for a set of brackets open on his laptop. He wants three quotations by Friday.
What the buyer sees
A form with four text boxes and no way to add a file. Or, in small print under it, "Email your drawings to sales@".
He has to open his email, find your address, attach the drawing and explain what it is, separately for each supplier who works this way.
What it costs you
Every extra step is a chance for the enquiry to wait, and enquiries that wait go to whoever answered first.
Drawings sent by email are separated from the enquiry they belong to and are easy to lose in a sales inbox.
What the buyer is asking at this point
"Can you make it to our drawing?"
He is checkingWhether you take made-to-order work, and what you need from him to quote.
A good answerA plain statement of the custom work you take, what you need (drawing, quantity, material, delivery point) and a quote form that accepts the drawing.

Check your own website in two minutes
- Try to send a drawing through your own enquiry form, from your phone.
- If it works, check that it arrives, where it is stored, and whether it accepts PDF, DWG, DXF and photographs.
What good looks like
- An upload field on the quote form for PDF, DWG, DXF and images, with the size limit stated.
- The file saved with the enquiry, not only sent as an email attachment.
- Only the named file types accepted, stored outside the public part of the website.
- A confirmation to the buyer that the drawing arrived.
How this gets put right
This problem rarely comes alone. It usually shares a cause with others on this list: a website written once, years ago, without the facts the plant and the sales team hold. Patching one page at a time seldom changes what a buyer concludes.
The AI Search Visibility Blueprint shows how far your own site has this and every related problem, how Google and the AI assistants read it today, and what to correct in what order. A Website Transformation rebuilds the site from your own documents so the whole set is put right together, and measures what moves each month.
