We are pleased to announce the launch of public beta of our Auto Intent System (patent pending), the revolutionary technology that accurately estimates the intent of website visitors and automatically directs them towards a sales page or an information page to maximize conversion potential.

Why bother with intent?

When a person visits a web site, he typically does so with the intent to find out more information about a problem or the solution to that. At times, the person has made up the mind to buy something and is looking for the best place to buy it from.

However if we send an information seeker to the sales page, he does not like being bombarded with aggressive sales pitch and bails out while sending a buyer to an information based page like an article can hold him from being able to buy that product quickly resulting in frustration and may be, a lost sale.

How does AIS Work?

Our proprietary Auto Intent System (AIS) uses sophisticated statistical algorithms to analyse several factors like the keyword used, search engine or referral source, sites visited in the recent past and other tabs open in the browser. For technically inclined people, we now have a fully solid state drive (SSD) as our main drive where the operating system, websites and the databases lie. This replaces the moving SATA based drives and improves the latency of data by several factors. We do backup our data daily on the regular SATA drives.

We were not getting good support from our earlier hosts and therefore some support calls were getting delayed responses. We have now moved to LiquidWeb on the recommendation of some good friends and let me just say this – we are mightily pleased. Here is a summary: 

• Typically UK users enter phone numbers as 020….., 01274….. etc. The mobile numbers are mostly 07…..
• While this is fairly well standardised, there are some users who enter numbers like 7….. (without the leading zero), or as 447….. (44 is UK country code). A few may try to enter +447….. (technically much more accurate as this will work from anywhere in the world). You should be able to accept these. We have adopted a pre-processing script that converts all these to the much more standardised 020….. or 07….. type formats.
• Some people also enter numbers like 4407….. where the zero following the 44 is not needed. We also take care of removing these extra zeroes.

These changes are quite small but have allowed us to accept several more submissions and will increase the daily lead count by a nice margin.
