If you have been planning to market your own ebook or make money as an affiliate selling other merchants' products, look no further than Clickbank. They have more than 10,000 merchants selling their digital products and more than 100,000 affiliates promoting these products.

Clickbank Affiliate

You can signup as Clickbank affiliate for FREE. You will be choosing a nickname during your signup. Now you can promote any of the products listed in the Clickbank marketplace and get affiliate commission credited to your account when someone buys that product after clicking on your affiliate link.

You don't even need to have your own website for this. You can promote products on Google Adwords, ezines or other places and send the prospects directly to the merchant site using a specially coded URL.

Caution:

It is generally recommended to encode your affiliate URL in some way so that the prospect does not see the Clickbank affiliate URL. Or else, they may replace the affiliate part with their own ID and get the commission credited to their account instead of you.

Clickbank Merchant

You can signup as a Clickbank affiliate and then upgrade to a merchant account. This requires you to have a sales page for a product and also a thank you page from where the custimer can download the product (the software or the ebook as the case may be). All the details are provided on the Clickbank website.

There is a one-time fee ($49.95 when I wrote this note) for upgrading to the merchant account.

All Clickbank affiliates can promote your product for commission (you can set the commission rate in your control panel). Thus you get an army of more than 100,000 affiliate who may promote your product if you decide to market through Clickbank.

A typical hoplink looks like http://hop.clickbank.net/?ebizindia/googlecash. This will take you the sale page for Googlecash and will put a cookie on the visitor's computer that tells Clickbank that if the visitor purchases Googlecash or anything from this merchant, you should be credited with a part of the sale as your commission.

You can checkup commission rate on Clickbank if you know the nickname of the merchant, whose product you want to sell. Just replace ?v=ebizindia with ?v=VendorId.
